Biography
I’m Dick Montague, and I always advise young people to pick a career they will enjoy. I didn’t. Because I had earned an MBA, I felt committed to a career in business, and I devoted four decades to a career I didn’t really enjoy and wasn’t very good at. Now, at 68, I’m retired (except for a seasonal job doing taxes so I can pay the bills), and I can finally devote most of my time to doing what interests me, and what I believe I’m good at. I am fascinated by the impact of evolution, not on the body, but on the mind of human and other animals, and in particular, on the development of moral values. Why am I interested in that topic? I haven’t the foggiest notion, except that I have always enjoyed theoretical and conceptual issues and, somehow, this one grabbed me. I’ve been reading and studying on the topic for a couple of years, now, and I’ve decided to share with others my thoughts, my questions, and my fascination with the subject. I invite you to join me. As this is my first blog, I hope you will be forgiving if there are a few technical glitches in the first few postings.
Dick
